I really liked how this shelf mantel has a drawer to preserve the essential elements of fireplace, remote, gas key, matches or lighting materials! I loved the depth 10 "so I can actually put decoration items on it, rather than the standard 8" you get with most mantel shelves. also liked that the pieces of decorative support sub can be used or not. shelf is actually supported by a wooden plank behind the shelf, came a bit deformed (which is why I gave it 4 stars), but it was very easy to
